Dulcimer Dinah will be offering free sessions to both whet our appetites for playing together in warmer weather as well as giving tips and suggestions for new players.  It is possible for even the most seasoned player to pick up a new thing or two.  So watch, listen and strum along as we prepare ourselves to play together——Let’s DO HOPE.

Session #1

How to “tune” a dulcimer, hints on strumming and holding a pick, and terminology will all be covered. We will finish this session with playing the “national anthem” of the dulcimer world, “Bile Them Cabbage Down!” You can download the tablature for this here:

Session #2

Dulcimer Dinah will review “Boil Them Cabbage,” (download above, from Session #1) and begin working on right hand strumming variations, such as a “chun-ky chunk” rhythm. Then, we will incorporate that rhythm into “Go Tell Aunt Rhodie.”
