Irish Eyes A’smilin’

May the Irish hills caress you. May her lakes and rivers bless you. May the luck of the Irish enfold you. May the blessings of St. Patrick behold you.

We celebrated St.Patrick’s Day with Celtic tunes, stories from Ireland, lots of green, and felt the luck of the Irish enfolding us, indeed! On March 16, 2024, the WOODSTOCK DULCIMER HEARTSTRINGS treated us to a collection of Irish songs led Vicky Germroth. Some were new to us, and some were old favorites from the Isles: The Dawning of the Day  (an Irish Harp song), My Wild Irish Rose, The Star of the County Down, The Wearing of the Green, Molly Malone, When Irish Eyes are Smiling

Heartstrings playing “Star of the County Down”.
Heartstrings playing Molly Malone.
Marlin shared a song, playing in DAA.

We all joined in playing on some old favorites, and we learned a new one or two, also! Thanks, to the Woodstock Heartstrings for our refreshments!

More chances to play along: Several Club members have enjoyed playing along with the Saturday online Zoom jams, “Send in the Music”. Music tab is provided before each session, and there is always a surprise guest musician. Read more about “Send in the Music” here!
