“May” We Sing and Play!

Our May Gathering at the Waynesboro Library was filled with the sounds of dulcimers playing AND happy voices singing! We celebrated the springtime weather and blooms with enthusiasm by playing Wildwood Flowers as a group, and with Wildflowers played by a trio of dulcimer, guitar and ukulele! Many thanks to the DulciCats of Charlottesville for sharing music selections leading our group playing!

Our shared tunes included Liza Jane, Gray Cat on a Tennessee Farm, Mississippi Sawyer, Old Yellow Dog, Old Joe Clark, I’ll Fly Away, River, and Wildwood Flower, above.

Wildflowers was shared by Donna Jo McCloskey on the dulcimer, Andy Moyer on the ukulele and Cheryl Allen on the guitar.

DulciCats from Charlottesville planned our program and shared some sing-along favorites: Five Hundred Miles, Simple Gifts, In the Forest, Shenandoah, The Rose, and Hey Jude.

Thank you, Sharon Baiocco, Penny Reighart and Lynn Gould for a fun MAY GATHERING!

Oh, Shenandoah, above, highlighted some fingerpicking! In the Forest, below, was lovely instrumental piece of a different style.

After a healthy snacks and drinks provided by the DulciCats, we gathered again to play some tunes by request and for some additional sharing.

While we were enjoying our playing we had a visual artist in our midst – many thanks to Sheila Trunzo of Waynesboro for sharing her pencil sketch of Sharon, Penny and Lynne!
