Dusty Strings D25-B hammered dulcimer and accessories ($650 OBO)

This full-sized hammered dulcimer had one owner, who used it to play Christmas carols once a year. It is solid wood with a black lacquer finish on the soundboard (hence the “B” in D25-B), and sounds lovely. The range is 15/14, and the folks at Dusty Strings confirmed that while the D25 is no longer made, it is similar to the D45 in sound and size, and shared this string chart for reference. The tag inside shows 10/5/1987 as the “birthdate,” and even bears the signatures of the instrument’s artisans, for some extra authenticity!

The instrument comes with a zippered soft case, two sets of hammers, several tuning rods, and a folding solid wood instrument stand. All are in great condition.

Located in Staunton, willing to travel a few hours for an in-person transaction. Please email Andrew at araridon@gmail.com with questions or more information.

This gem of a bass, made of Rosewood and purchased new directly from Blue Lion in 2021, is in prime condition. It features cherry binding, f-heart sound holes, the standard Blue Lion single white rose inlay, a strap button, and has a pickup for use with an amp. It comes with a Blue Lion hard side case and a small home amp is included. The purchase price in 2021 was $2001.

No photos are available yet. For current prices for the rosewood, scroll heads, the white rose inlay and pickup, check the Blue Lion site (https://bluelioninstruments.com/dulcimer_pages/style_II.htm). This will give you a good idea of what it would sell for today. This fine rosewood bass currently resides in St. Augustine, FL, but is able to be delivered to a new address.

The owner is anxious to “thin out his herd” and will accept a reasonable offer. He is looking for a home where this will be treasured.
