Our October 18 gathering was graced by beautiful autumn weather! We met at the Bridgewater Retirement Community at 1:30 in the Shenandoah Room and were led by Lori Lineweaver and Dinah Ansley, who shared Balm in Gilead and Whispering Hope, and led sing-alongs of I’ve Been Working on the Railroad and Tennessee Waltz. We were entertained by the singing of an original re-working of the Tennessee Waltz, based on a sad story of disappearing pizza. Thanks, Brian – we loved hearing that tale – and the lullaby you created!

We practiced several seasonal songs for GROUP PLAYING AND AUDIENCE SING-A-LONG at the upcoming Dec. 13th program. These include:
JINGLE BELLS
UP ON A HOUSE TOP
GOOD KING WENCESLAS
If you were not present at this gathering, please download arrangements for these tunes from the club website so you will have them for the Dec. 13 gathering and concert:

River City Strummers brought an old favorite, When the Wagon Was New, featuring Patricia on the auto harp. What a treat!
Our time together also included sharing by a new “duet” team, Scott and Jim, who played two selections, including Glory in the Meeting House:
While our group was smaller than some gatherings, due to important events going on at the same time, those of us present enjoyed cider and snacks, and sharing music!
