Blue Ridge Mountain Dulcimer Players gather to play together, with number attending varying from half a dozen to two dozen or more. ALL ARE WELCOME! Bring a dulcimer and friend or come and listen – it’s a great way for beginners to learn some new songs!

Schedule for the 2026 Gatherings
Club leaders made the decision in a Sept. 30 meeting to revise our schedule to FOUR gatherings a year, with the possible addition of a Christmas program, and to host them all at THE STUDIO at the Bridgewater Retirement Village Community (BRC) in Bridgewater, VA.
These will occur on the THIRD SATURDAY from 1:30 to 3:30 in March, May, July, and September.
Our goals are to make our gatherings a shorter distance for those throughout Central Virginia, to promote attendance, and to play and learn together. So mark your 2026 calendars!

What will be the format of our meetings, going forward?
We will KEEP the CURRENT FORMAT for gatherings, that is, one area host and showcase for 15 minutes. Then we will ask for individuals/groups who might want to showcase a tune or two;
We are adding an occasional NEW FEATURE: 15 minutes for an INTERLUDE FOR LEARNING.
In the remainder of our gathering we will play jam tunes, with names of the tunes sent out (ideally) two weeks before gathering.

Directions to the Oasis at Bridgewater Retirement Community from I – 81:
Take Exit _240__ towards Bridgewater on Route 257/682 which becomes Dinkel Avenue within the town limits of Bridgewater.
After passing through Bridgewater College, turn right on North Second Street (towards MapleTerrace) (there is a blue Bridgewater Retirement Community Sign)
Take the first right onto Home View Drive. This will wind left, then right, past the Nursing Wing.
At the Stop sign, turn right. The Oasis picnic shelter is in view, across the grass to the left.
Park in the lot right there, or drive around to the next Stop Sign, take a left into the parking lot on the other side.
Directions to the Oasis at Bridgewater Retirement Community from Route 42, which becomes Main Street within the town limits or Bridgewater:
Enter town, and at the third stoplight, take Mt. Crawford Avenue towards the East (towards Oakdale Park).
Turn right on Naomi Lane (there is a blue Bridgewater Retirement Community Sign)
When this short street comes to a “t” at a Stop sign, turn left onto Wayside Drive.
Almost immediately, at the Stop, turn right onto Placid Parkway. Continue straight past turnoffs to Rosewood and E. Rainbow, and turn into the parking lot on your left.
The Oasis picnic shelter is at the end of this parking lot.
